Shawn Simpson and Emmanuelle Bellange, Agence Iter France
Biography:
Shawn Simpson has been involved in training for over 30 years. A European expert in life long learning projects with a background in the management of service activities, she has created over 25 different exchange programs with foreign universities and developed intercultural seminars and workshops for industry and training organizations. Shawn has been working for the Agence Iter France for 3 years and is in charge of their Intercultural French Program.
Emmanuelle Bellange has a background in Human Resources and a degree in French labor law. After working for the HR Department of the CEA/Cadarache as responsible for recruitment, career development, and trade union negotiations, Emmanuelle was asked to start up the Welcome Office and has since been in charge of this 7-person team within the Agence Iter France.
Abstract:
The aim of the Welcome Office at the Agence Iter France is to meet the specific needs of ITER Organization’s staff and spouses. Emmanuelle Bellange, Head of this Welcome Office will be talking about its development and orientations. The French language program developed within the Welcome Office, entitled the “Intercultural French Program” received the European Label for Innovation in January 2009. This program is still evolving and the discussion will focus on the constant adaptation to changing expatriate needs as well as the necessity of intercultural learning.
