Akko Maas, ITER Organization
Biography:
In January 2006 Akko Maas joined the ITER International Team at the newly established Cadarache Joint Work Site in the role of scientific advisor in the Director-General’s office. Within the ITER Organization, Akko Maas has fulfilled the role of Section Leader for Project Management responsible for planning and scheduling, procurement in kind, R&D activities, task management and transport and site logistics.
Akko Maas is currently responsible for coordination with the Domestic Agencies and is the ITER contact person for Export Control matters.
Abstract:
Akko Mass will introduce the workshop with the history behind the choice of the Cadarache site for the ITER project and the international negotiations involved.
Since Akko was involved from the beginning, he will tell us about his experience in the ITER Organization working in a team that started with 10 people and now includes over 400.
